NanoElRei Summit:

NanoElectronics in Romania: Research-education- industry”
Bucharest, 20th of April, 2010

Venue: Bd. Octavian Goga nr. 2, Sector 3, Bucharest,, “Dacia” hall

The local organizers were the National Institute for R&D in Microtechnologies (IMT-Bucharest) and Infineon Technologies Romania (IFRO), in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bucharest (CCIB), University “Politehnica” of Bucharest and Technical University “Gh. Asachi” of Iasi.

The event highlighted the fact that Romania is now a full member to ENIAC-JU, i.e. public funding is provided to Romanian participants in successful projects (see the 2010 ENIAC JU call). Supplementary information about the ENIAC-JU call in 2010 (in Romanian) is accessible here.

The purpose of the Summit was to underline the potential of Romania for nanoelectronics, as illustrated by both the international companies with subsidiaries in this country and the academic institutions (universities and research institutes).
Apart from the organizations already present in the programme, other participants contributed to the poster session, as well as to the Round-table discussion moderatedby Dr. Wild. The decision to create a “cluster” or a “network” related to nanoelectronics was considered at this meeting.
